It was a great weekend of competitive basketball at the Second Annual LongIslandBasketball.com Summer Championships. Our tournament of champions crowned 2011's best in 8 age groups, with outstanding competition between teams from 6 states. Team Albany 360 led the way, capturing the spotlight 11th Grade Division behind MVP Trahmire Burrell and All-Tournament selections Shane Natale and Rushon Young, while the Long Island Knights/Davis continued their outstanding season, overwhelming a strong 10th Grade Division led by MVP Daniel Pierrot and All-Tournament choices Chris Millender, Stephon Odle, and Latrell Washington. Jerry Powell's Team Express dominated the 9th Grade Division, with MVP Tavon Ginyard and All-Tournament Team members Dylan Balducci, Mike Farells, and Jimmy Golaszewski almost unstoppable, and Shabue Mosely's excellent T&D squad won a terrific final to take home the 8th Grade hardware, with MVP Melshawn McPherson and All-Tournament Team selections Charles Hickson and Mike Smith leading the way. The Middle School Division Champion was LIL Diasparra, who looked very impressive. MVP Jerome Kalloo and All-Tournament Team members John Alimo and Damani Meyers were outstanding. The 12U crown went to the North Babylon Bulldogs, with Joseph Klages leading the way, the 11U to LIL Lewis, with outstanding play from MVP Savion Lewis and All Tournament Team members Julien Crittendon and Jason Robinson, and the 10U trophy was claimed by the Long Island Wizards. MVP Gerard St. Laurent and All-Tournament Team member Daniel Nixon
led the Wizards to the upset.
